Client: Google Canada

Project: Google Doodle

My work: I wrote the copy for Google Canada’s Google Doodle celebrating the extraordinary life of Violet King Henry. The revolving “work – courage – passion – spirit” was my suggestion, and the team designed it.

This project taught me that sometimes you need to go big first to then go small. It was a surprising challenge to highlight her birth, work, character, and Google Doodle in 13 seconds.

You can watch it below, or on YouTube where it has over 38,000 views.

Client: Laetro

Project: Momentum Update (monthly email newsletter)

My work: I write Laetro’s monthly newsletter, Momentum Update. I use Canva to create visuals, and SendGrid to dispatch the emails to the 600+ creatives in the Laetro community.

The newsletter is a place to:

  • Celebrate individual creatives in the community.
  • Highlight activations from our private social channel.
  • Get creatives excited/informed about recent and upcoming remote and recorded Laetro events like Creative Club, The Round Table, and Ask Me Anything.
  • Foster that community feeling!

Momentum Update has an average 66.53% email open rate. The average email open rate for other email types that I write: Creative Club announcements at 70.97%, new talent outreach at 82.13%.

Client: AfroRithm Futures Group

Project: Website redesign

My work: I copyedited the client’s previous web copy, in addition to crafting entirely new copy for their Splash, Explore, About, How To Play, and Contact pages.

This was an enjoyable and rewarding project on which to work. The folks at AfroRithm Futures Group are awesome. Their services and games help participants and players activate their radical imagination and learn through play.

You can peek at the Explore page below, but I recommend touring ARFG’s site for the full experience.
